It is with regret, that the League informs you of the passing of one of our former officials Mr Cyril Baxter.  Cyril had a long history with the Wallasey Sunday League and will be sadly missed.  Our league president, Mr Ken Harrison, a good friend of Cyril, represented the League at his funeral.

FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY 2013

We are quickly moving towards our 50th Anniversary celebrations, and moves have been in place to gain sponsorship to fund this most auspicious occasion.  I am hoping within the next few days, to upload our fortieth celebration programme, which was held at the Regency Suite, Grosvenor Street, Liscard. As you will see from the programme, there were dignitaries from Everton and Liverpool, and the programme afforded sponsorship from pubs, and many businesses that were able to provide money that made the celebrations worthwhile.  We are now looking for the same sort of sponsorship to fund, what we hope to be, a memorable 50th anniversary. Our target as a venue is the new look Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, that hosts a wonderful conference room overlooking the sea. This would be an ideal venue to be at, and would provide a service that this League respects and deserves.  We have to start now to raise the sponsorship, and we are asking for your help in doing so.  Please put it to your workplace, or the public house that you run from, and let us start the fundraising early.  I am creating a leaflet that I am hoping to send to our two Premier clubs, Everton and Liverpool and Tranmere Rovers as well.  If you are able to help in any way, please contact League Secretary Mr Tommy Potter with details. The anniversary will probably be in June 2013, but this will be confirmed nearer the date.  Thank you all in advance!!

 Please note   Fixtures WILL NOT be cancelled on 26th February for professional football reasons.

ALL games will take place as scheduled, unless teams can prove that 5 or more players are actually attending the Wembley fixture.

Ticket purchase MUST be provided by the teams requesting postponements ie; a photocopy or similar, and shown to League Secretary Mr Tom Potter

Teams failing to attend the scheduled fixtures will forfeit the game

I HAVE BEEN ASKED BY MR POTTER TO REMIND YOU, THAT THE WEBSITE IS NOT THE PLACE TO CONFIRM MATCH STATUS.  I WILL PUT UP ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED TO ME BY THE LEAGUE SECRETARY AND REFEREE SECRETARY. IT MUST BE STRESSED THOUGH, THAT ALL FIXTURES MUST BE CONFIRMED EACH WEEK WITH THE OPPOSITION AND OFFICIALS.  IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE SEEN SOMETHING ON SITE THAT SUGGESTS YOUR GAME IS OFF, THEN DOUBLE CHECK WITH OPPOSITION, LEAGUE AND REFEREE'S SECRETARY.  THIS PRACTICE WAS IN PLACE WELL BEFORE THE WEBSITE WAS HERE, AND IT MUST REMAIN THAT WAY. PLEASE NOTE THE RUNNING HEADLINE SECTION RELATES TO GAMES PLAYED THE WEEK BEFORE, THEY ARE THEN UPDATED THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY.
