MES Ltd First Division - Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division - Wirral DFA Amateur cup - Wirral DFA Junior cup 2nd round

Report compiled by Tome Potter League Press Officer
The lack of match officials on a Sunday continues, but not just for league fixtures but also Wirral DFA cup games as no referee was available for the West Kirby Athletic versus Upton Willows, which has now been rearranged for next Sunday. However, the other Wirral DFA Amateur cup tie between One O’Clock Gun and Wirral Radio did take place and saw the Gun fire themselves into the next round with a 3-1 success thanks to goals from Billy Rainbow-2 and Leighton Clarke finding the net as their winning streak continues.

In the Wirral DFA Junior cup 2nd round Shore Villa eliminated Victoria Colts Seniors in a 3-1 success that saw an own goal and singles from Ben Windle and Tom Kennington secure victory.
Ellesmere Port Red Lions also progressed via a last-minute winner as they beat Great Sutton FC 3-2 with Danny Eastland netting twice and Jack Roberts= claiming a single.
A double strike from Kieran Byrne plus singles from Charlie Roberts and Callum Jones gave Shore Villa Athletic a 4-1 victory over fellow leaguers Barnston FC.
Despite fighting back from 4-2 down to level matters and go to a penalty shoot-out as Sam Macadam-2, Leyton Abbott and Luke Steele scored for FC Greasby, they were eliminated 5-3 by Higher Beb Kelma from the spot-kicks.

One fixture took place in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division which resulted in an 8-0 success for New Brighton Town versus Wallasey Wolves thanks to James Carlin bagging a second half hat-trick, plus a double from Dylan Palmer and singles from Ellis Lamb, Greg Williams and a penalty notched by keeper Luke Roberts in his last game before joining the Army. Good luck for the future Luke.

Tussles in the MES Ltd First Division resulted in Wallasey Wanderers earning a battling 2-1 victory against Farmers Arms, who had Alex Clarke as their lone scorer. Hitting the responses were Declan Netherton and Morgan Catherton.
Trident ran out 4-1 winners over AFC Shore Villa due to a Sam Bonner brace and singles from Morgan George and Jake Adams.
Closing the gap at the top to four points are Finnigan FC following their 2-1 victory over Oldershaw FC due to a goal apiece from Steve Kelly and Adam McCreevy.
