Review including the Capital Cup Final and League Fixtures

Report
The final of the Capitol Cup took place at the home of Cammell Laird 1907 FC and resulted in a victory for One O’Clock Gun as they saw off the challenge of Wallasey Wanderers in a fixture that was even for most of the game, but the finishing power of the Gun proved the difference late in the second half. A good save by Liam Parry and a shot that hit the goalpost prevented Wanderers from taking the lead, but the Gun also missed chances in a very even first half.
The second period saw a penalty converted by Carl Navarro give the Gun the lead and as the game wore on further goals from Billy Rainbow, Leighton Clarke and Mark McCoom enabled the Gun to claim the trophy against a hard-working Wanderers team, as they seek to claim four trophies in this campaign. Morgan Galer was named player of the game for the Gun by the opposition and in reciprocation Morgan Catterson was named Wanderers player of the game. The top of the table clash in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division ended honours even between the leaders Shore Villa and second placed North West Harriers as they battled to a 1-1 draw. Netting for Harriers was Conor Reeves, with Sonny Croft replying for Villa in a well-balanced encounter.
Wallasey Wolves grabbed their first victory of the season when beating Bromborough Athletic 5-1, courtesy of a hat-trick from Charlie Rickelsford and singles from Jack Wright and Dan Drought.
In the MES Ltd First Division Trident took the spoils versus Farmers Arms when securing a 2-0 success thanks to goals from Morgan George and Jake Williams.
The other fixture played in the division was abandoned after about 65 minutes due to a player sustaining a broken leg and the league wish him a speedy recovery.
Next Sunday sees the final of the Magee Cup with One O’clock Gun playing Trident at the KRCT Stadium which is the home ground of Cammell Laird 1907 FC.
Kick-off is at 11.00am.
