The opening day of fixtures began with a one-minute silence being observed for Dava Finnigan who recently lost his life, as all four teams at Rycroft were called together by referee Rob Allen and they showed immense respect for the departed player.

Mike O’Sullivan Garages First Division

Dava’s old team JASGA FC also showed great respect by opening their campaign with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Liscard Panthers thanks to a double strike from Stuart Speed and a single from Daren Pritchard after Dale Crawford had pulled a goal back for Panthers in a very entertaining game.

New boys Wallasey Wanderers opened their account in great fashion when coming from 1-0 down to beat Eastham Rangers 6-1 with goals from Connor Jackson-2, Macauley Lathom, Owen Pulford, Callum Williams and Mike Madden, as Nathan Lowe netted the lone response.

Two other new boys started with wins as Vale Athletic beat PLCCFC (Jack Jones) 2-1 with efforts from Sean Heath and Tom Dewis

Sheridans won a five-goal thriller 3-2 versus Bromborough Town as Shaun Burgess-2 and Mike Neish found the net, with Sonny James and Kal Herbert firing the replies.

A goal apiece from Kyle Sloan and Bradley Wrench gave Vineyard a 2-1 success over Eastham Rangers Colts, who had Dillon Thomas as their lone marksman.

Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division

Shore Villa welcomed new team Bromborough Athletic in style as they netted ten times in the 10-0 victory. Ben Riley, Sam Range and Blagoy Radov all fired hat-tricks and James Outram completed the rout.

Park Royal went nap as they beat North West Harriers 5-1 due to Josh Marshall, Alex Ramsey, Adam Buckley, Simon Long and Jordan Major netting singles, with Connor Bowman scoring the consolation.

Primrose FC drew 1-1 with Trident as Dec Kinnear scored and Aaron Buckley replied and also drawing 1-1 were Wallasey Wolves and Shore Villa Athletic as George Webster netted for Wolves and Jack Loftus replied for Athletic.

Despite a goal from Tim Hughes, Oxton Celtic slipped to a 3-1 defeat against Ellesmere Port Red Lions who had Matthew Roberts-2 and Dominick Hoppe on target.
