Review Week Ten 30th October 22 - including The Capitol Cup 1st Round

Report compiled by Tom Potter League Secretary

Capitol Cup 1st round

Plenty of trick or treats came in the Capitol Cup 1st round as West Kirby Athletic caused the upset of the day when winning a seven-goal thriller 4-3 versus JASGA FC who had Adam Walker, James McAlinden and Mason Piercy on the goal trail. The second division team edged home with goals from Jack Davies, Matty Pipe and a double from Seb Pierce in an end-to-end tussle.
PLCCFC stumped the progress of Farmers Arms as they won 3-2 thanks to an own goal and singles from Dan Morning and George Craven.

Morgan Galer netted four times for One O’clock Gun as they beat Oxton Celtic 7-1 and also had Leighton Clarke, Ben Morris and Lewy Galer on the score sheet, with Sean Deehan bagging the lone response.

A Connor Jackson brace allied to a single from Matty Madden gave Wallasey Wanderers a 3-1 victory over North West Harriers who had Riley Jones as their marksman.

MES Ltd First Division

In the MES Ltd First Division Trident recorded the score of the day when beating Liscard Panthers 8-3, with six goals coming in the second half to place them joint top. On target for Trident were Michal Mocha-2, Sam Bonner, Aaron McClean, Jake Williams, Tom Mulryan, Harry Murray and Stephen Teale. Firing the replies were Dale Crawford, Curtis Ledsom-Robinson and Joe Williams.

Still top of the pile on goal difference are Vineyard who shared the spoils with third placed Bromborough Town in a battling 2-2 encounter, as Ben Hawitt and Tom Mole scored with Jack Cooke and Drew Stewart-Taylor replying for Town.

Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division

A solitary goal from Mark Houston was enough for Shore Villa to beat Park Royal in a very even affair in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division but AFC Shore Villa increased their lead at the top to six points when overcoming Barnston FC 4-0 thanks to a treble from Oliver Galloway and a single from Max Carvell in a great team effort.

Ellesmere Port Red Lions roared past Bromborough Athletic in a 7-0 success that saw Eric Gilmore fire a hat-trick and Jack Roberts, Harry Brassey, Andy Supple and Matty Roberts all grab singles to claim second position on goal difference.
