Week Twenty Seven 26th March - Including Second Division Cup Final

Report compiled by Tom Potter league Secretary

Second Division Cup Final

A very tense but evenly matched Second
Division Cup Final was decided by a
penalty shoot-out after Shore Villa Athletic
and West Kirby Athletic fought out a 1-1
draw in a game well marshalled by the match
officials.

First blood went to West Kirby as Tom
Cameron opened the scoring in the first five
minutes but the even first half saw Tom
Rowlands level matters in the 30th minute for
Villa. The second half was also an equal affair as
chances were created but missed by both
teams as they sought the elusive winner.
Both keepers made saves in the penalty
shoot-out which resulted in West Kirby taking
the trophy with a 4-3 verdict.
Man of the match awards selected by the
opposing teams and went to Stephen Ryan
(SVA) and Jack Davies (WKA)

games provided hard fought encounters but
saw JASGA FC narrowly beat Bromborough

1-1 in normal time. Scorer for PLCC was Dan
Brown in the 90th minute, but they lost the
shoot-out 2-0 as Gun’s keeper saved three
spot kicks.
