Opening fixtures for the new season saw Finnigan FC open their account in the MES Ltd First Division when bowling over PLCCFC in a 4-1 success thanks to Anthony Phillips bagging a brace and Kevin Parr and Zac Dobson notching one apiece. The lone reply coming from Matty Beaman. Trident and Wallasey Wanderers fought out a great 2-2 draw that saw Connor Jackson putting Wanderers ahead before Sam Bonner equalised and then went 2-1 ahead thanks to a Michal Mocha goal. But Matty Madden found the net to ensure the points were shared.Despite promoted West Kirby Athletic scoring twice through a Matty Pipe double, they were beaten 3-2 by Oldershaw FC, who had Dale Crawford-2 and Cathal Sloan netting their goals. Last seasons champions One O’clock Gun began their defence with a 4-1 victory against promoted Farmers Arms due to both Billy Rainbow and Paul Finn scoring two goals apiece and Mike Jenkinson fired the only reply. Action from the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division saw Shore Villa hit the goal trail when defeating Bromborough Athletic 6-1 thanks to doubles from Mark Houston and Kevin Walker and singles from Tom Kenningham and Sam Darbey.Barnston FC had Jason Stephens-2 and Jamie Mitchell to thank for their 3-1 away victory versus Ellesmere Port Red Lions, whose lone response came from Matty Roberts.North West Harriers began their campaign with a 3-0 success over Wallasey Wolves thanks to Declan Kinnear netting a fine hat-trick. Also scoring three times were Shore Villa Athletic as they ran out 3-0 winners against New Brighton Town thanks to efforts from Jamie Parker-2 and Ady Jones. New boys FC Greasby had a great start to their first season in the league when beating Park Royal 5-1, as Jack Cooper-2, Kieran Davies, Corey Casey and Dillon Sharpe found the net in a good team effort. Bagging the lone response was Will Russell.
