Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division

Shore Villa Athletic raced to the top of the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division when beating Ellesmere Port Red Lions in a five-goal tussle which they won 3-2 with as Jamie Parker netted two goals and Jason Farrell added the third. Claiming the responses were Matty Roberts and Eric Gilmour in a very even fixture.

Bromborough Athletic warmed up for their Wirral DFA Junior cup game next week with a 5-0 defeat of Wallasey Wolves thanks to Mike Mooney bagging a hat-trick and Jamie McNulty and Lee McNulty notched a single each.

Farmers Arms went nap when beating Barnston FC 5-0 due to Liam Pitt scoring twice and Connor Joy, Alex Pitt and Danny Lewis all scored singles in a great team effort.

First Division Cup 1st round 1st leg

In the First Division Cup 1st round 1st leg Wallasey Wanderers lost out to JASGA FC despite Matty Madden netting a brace, as the visitors won 4-2 with a Stuart Speed treble and a single from Adam Walker which sets up an interesting second leg fixture.

Bromborough Town failed to increase their lead of the MES Ltd First Division when losing out to One O’Clock Gun 3-1, as the Gun closed the gap at the top. Joe Skinner was the lone scorer for Town, as Leighton Clarke scored along with debutant Paul Wallace who netted a double.

PLCCFC bowled over Liscard Panthers as they hit them for a six in a 6-3 result as Matty Beaman grabbed a treble, Dan Morning claimed a double and Cory Mountford scored a single. Bagging the replies for Panthers were Scott McMahon and Liam Stephens plus an own goal in an end-to-end encounter.

Wirral DFA Amateur cup semi finals

Penalties were bad news for our two teams in the Wirral DFA Amateur cup semi finals as Trident went out to Wellington FC who scored two first half penalties to secure a 2-0 win.
Vineyard could have levelled their tie versus Whitby Rangers at 1-2 down but a penalty miss and a dismissal caused them to end up in a 5-1 defeat despite Joel Campbell firing home a fine goal.
