First Division Cup Final

Yet another final went to a penalty shoot-out as JASGA FC and One O’clock Gun played out a stirring contest in the First Division Cup Final played at Cammell Laird FC’s venue.

The Gun, who were in their second final of the campaign went behind in the fifth minute when Jack Fletcher rifled home following a goal mouth scramble and they began the game well in the opening stages as Gun’s keeper Liam Parry made some excellent saves. But as the half wore on JASGA’s keeper Lewis Walker produced some important saves to help them retain the half time lead.

Second half action saw Gun firing on all cylinders as they fought to level matters, but both keepers again showed their worth with really good saves. Then with time running out Gun were awarded a penalty and Leighton Clarke blasted home the equaliser.
Spot kick time saw JASGA net their first four penalties and keeper Walker saved two of the Gun’s effort to see them take the cup with a 4-2 verdict from the spot.
Man of the match awards went to Ben Morris (Gun) and Connor Edwards (JASGA) in an even conflict that could have gone either way.

Capitol Cup semi-finals

In the Capitol Cup semi-finals Trident had two goal marksman Sam Bonner to thank for their 2-0 victory against Shore Villa Athletic and they will now meet Vineyard in the final after Gary Winders and Ben Hawitt slotted home goals for another 2-0 success over PLCCFC.

Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division

Action from the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division saw Farmers Arms maintain their promotion push with a 5-0 defeat of Park Royal thanks to a Liam Pitt brace and singles from Dan Lewis, Tom Murphy and Ben Gerrard keeping them five points clear at the top.

In hot pursuit are AFC Shore Villa following their 4-0 success over Wallasey Wolves as Jack Gilson netted twice and Max Carvell and Oliver Galloway added the extras.

The spoils were shared between North West Harriers and Ellesmere Port Red Lions as they fought out a 2-2 draw due to Connor Hallwood scoring twice for Lions and Riley Jones and Luke Roberts netting the responses.

Despite Connor Hodson scoring yet again, Shore Villa went down 2-1 versus Oxton Celtic.
