Action from the MES Ltd First Division saw goals galore with West Kirby Athletic romping home against Vineyard 7-2. Lone scorer for the visitors was Ryan Slater with a brace, but netting for Athletic were Alex Wilson with a treble, Nathan Leyland with a double and both Dom Harrison and Seb Pierce bagged singles. One O’clock Gun retained top spot following their 5-0 success over Trident thanks to Billy Rainbow claiming a double and Paul Finn, Ollie Lowe and Leighton Clarke all adding singles.Finnigan FC remain a point behind in second place after beating Wallasey Wanderers 6-3, due to efforts from John Pomphrett-2, Anthony Phillips-2, Steve Kelly and an own goal, with the replies coming from Declan Netherton, Ollie Lowe and Connor Jackson.
A goal apiece from Curtis Ledsom-Robinson,
Dale Crawford and Joe Shelmerdine saw Oldershaw FC earn the spoils versus AFC Shore Villa in a 3-0 victory.
Despite Alex Pitt scoring for Farmers Arms they were beaten 3-1 by PLCCFC who had Lee Davey-2 and Sonny Sword on target.
Plenty of goals also in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division as Shore Villa Athletic bagged double figures when overcoming Wallasey Wolves 12-1 due to goals from David Southall-3, Jordan Martin-2, Luis Shirley, Terry Watkinson, Phil Whitley, Jamie Parker, James Smith, Sam Copley and an own goal and Jack Wright netted the consolation.
FC Greasby claimed a point in their 1-1 draw with Barnston FC thanks to Corey Casey netting the equaliser.
New Brighton Town and North West Harriers shared the spoils in a 0-0 result, but Bromborough Athletic took the points in a 7-2 verdict over Park Royal whose lone marksman was Jamie Woods with a brace. Scoring for Athletic were Jack Whitby-2, Andrew Grice and Roan Huggins with an excellent foursome.
Many thanks go to the match officials for attending fixtures today, as some were unavailable, but the shortage of referee’s should be a major concern for the Cheshire County FA and the Wirral Referees Association. Especially with many teams becoming defunct over a long period of time which is affecting many leagues throughout the county, whose responsibility is to provide cover for all fixtures taking place.
