The Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division title race saw leaders Shore Villa edge home 3-2 versus second placed North West Harriers in a great game as they opened up a five-point gap at the top. Bagging the goals for Villa were Tom Oliver, James Caul and Connor Hodson, with Dean Scott and Andy Taylor replying for Harriers.
Bromborough Athletic hit the goal trail when beating Park Royal 8-1, thanks to Jack Whitby netting four times with Rees McNulty, Jamie Duckers, Reece Kelly and Lewis Holt finding the net. The consolation goal was scored by Jack Moore. One O’clock Gun retained their unbeaten record and top spot in the MES Ltd First Division as three goals in ten minutes before the break earned them a 3-0 success over a battling Trident team, as Nathan Johnston claimed a double and Owen McMahon added a single in a good encounter. Vineyard returned to winning ways when defeating Farmer Arms 4-0 with goals from Callum Morrison-2, Lachlan Pote and Ryan Slater to move them into third position.
Capitol Cup 1st round action saw the opening four games with two games going to penalty shoot-outs to decide them, but no such trouble for FC Greasby as they won an eight-goal thriller versus New Brighton Town 5-3. Scoring for the victors were Lewis Seymour, Paul Devey, Corey Casey, Layton Abbott and an own goal, with the responses coming from Euan Sait, James Carlin and Oscar Pugh.
A goal apiece from Connor Jackson and Macauley Latham earned Wallasey Wanderers a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Ellesmere Port Red Lions, but despite goals from Alex Wilson and Benji Adams in the opening 90 minutes, West Kirby Athletic were eliminated 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out versus Finnigan FC after drawing 2-2, who had Josh Malone and John Pomphrett as their two marksmen in normal time. PLCCFC also drew 2-2 against Shore Villa Athletic thanks to goals from George Craven and Jack Jones, but replies from Ciaran Byrne and Jamie Parker took the game to penalties and Athletic were victorious with a 5-4 result.
